John Stuart Mamer  1948-2012


John Stuart Mamer, 65, of Pennington, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, with his beloved wife by his side. John was born in Champaign-Urbana, IL, to Donna and Stuart Mamer. He moved to New Jersey to attend Princeton University and graduated in 1970 with a degree in economics. There he met his future wife, Mary Sefczek, who he married in 1971. John's career was spent at Mathematica Policy Research, where he worked for over 35 years. He retired as the senior vice president for information technology and director of information services. John loved to travel and went on many trips with his brothers, wife and daughters. In 2003, John and daughter Jessica traveled to Nepal to trek to the basecamp of Mt. Everest. Last summer, though his health was failing, the entire family went to Alaska for one last voyage. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary; two daughters, Jessica and Elizabeth; his father, Stuart; two brothers, Richard and Bruce; his mother-in-law, Elsie (Wargnier) Sefczek; sisters-in-law; brothers-in law; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Jordan); sister-in-law, Ellen (Cahn), and father-in-law, John Sefczek.
